Finovate Europe 2016: What to expect?

Finovate, one of the largest financial conferences on the planet, is set to hold their European event over the next two days.

Having started in 2007 in New York, the event expanded to San Francisco the following year, before the development of a European version of the event in 2010. The yearly meeting sees some of the big players in finance come together to discuss the latest innovations in the FinTech industry.

Just a few of the many companies who will be presenting at FinovateEurope include Vipera, ING Business, and Sandstone Technology. All of the companies presenting at the event have one thing in common; they are looking to further innovate FinTech. There are also some rather notable names making appearances in the audience, including PayPal, BBC News, HSBC, and other financial institutions, FinTech companies, investors, and press/ industry analysts.

The agenda for the event consists of demo sessions from the dozens of presenters, as well as the opportunity for networking. With over 1,000 FinTech innovators gathering at previous Finovate conferences, many have benefitted from the networking opportunities, attracting some serious attention and even closing deals from leads generated at the event. One example being Revolut; having debuted at FinovateEurope 2015, the multi-currency no-fee money transferring app has recently gained $4.8 million in funding, bringing its total funding to $7.6 million

Revolut is just one of several success stories that have demoed at or attended FinovateEurope in the past; it’s highly likely that this year’s event will spark several more.
